Obituary For John Michael Coffey

John Coffey passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Jackson, CA at the age of 81 years old. He was born March 18, 1941, in San Luis Obispo, CA to the late Frank and Betty Coffey.

John and Margie were married for “55 wonderful years” as he used to say. He worked for United Airlines from 1965 to 2005 and was a manger for field communications which allowed him to fly to all the United World locations. As a very personal and enjoyable person, John was able to collect a multitude of diverse and interesting friends all over the globe. His imposing stature and deed down humor could keep everyone entertained and interested in his stories. He will be missed by many friends and family. Rest in peace, John.

At the family’s request there will be no services.

I was so sorry to hear about John's passing. Three years ago when the pandemic first started and I wanted to stay away from people, I started grocery shopping at Raleys early on Sunday mornings. I started to see John every Sunday morning and finally talked to him. And I would continue to see him and chat every Sunday for the past three years. I called him my Raley's friend. He was smart and funny even when things weren't going well or body parts were hurting. We would share which ache was happening that day. Always looked forward to our chats, and I will miss him.
