Lois W Hayes passed away Sunday, Dec 18, 2022, in Jackson, Ca at the age of 89 years old. She was born in Collingdale, PA on June 22, 1933, a daughter of the late Dora Mae (Muldoon) and Theodore Waltman.
Lois graduated from Sharon Hill High in 1951, where she excelled in women's basketball. Lois moved to California prior to 1957, where she started her family in the town of Dublin. Lois worked as secretary for San Ramon Unified School Dist. Prior to moving to Sutter Creek in 1981 Lois owned and operated a small clothing and gift shop, Miner’s Pic, in Amador City. After closing the store Lois continued as a secretary for several years, finishing up as a floral delivery driver for The Garden Spot. Lois was an active member of the local Catholic church. Lois loved family gatherings, watching sports, square dancing, and bowling. She had a love for the ocean and dolphins.
Lois is survived by her loving children, daughter Cynthia Landergen of Jackson, Ca; three sons Patrick, husband of DeeDee Hardy of Rough & Ready, Ca, Michael, husband of Michele Hardy of Dana Point, Ca, and Joe husband of Cheri Hardy of Manteca, Ca. A stepdaughter, Laura Hess of Grand Junction, Co; a stepson Danny, husband of Linda Hayes of Vero Beach, Fl. She is also survived by grandchildren, Adrianna Schiro, Daniel Welch Jr, Keilawnee Landergen, Jessica Carrigan, Erica Grayson, Garret Hardy, Joseph Hardy, Tyler Hardy, Bradley Smith, Stephanie Donavan, and Colby Hayes and 6 great- grandchildren. Lois is preceded in death by her former husband Daniel Hayes; sister Doris Moloney; cousins, Hazel, and Frank McAllister.
