Obituary For Marilyn Lou Welde

Marilyn L. Welde passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, in Pine Grove, CA at the age of 94. She was born in San Jose, CA on June 13, 1928, the daughter of the late Irene Augusta (Walcott) and Leonard Wallace Scott. She continued to live in San Jose after marrying her husband Richard until 1991 when they moved to the log home she and Richard designed and built together in Pine Grove CA to be closer to their cherished summer home at Silver Lake along with many of their longtime friends.

Marilyn was a woman of strong Christian faith dedicated to her husband and family all of whom she loved with all of her heart. She loved her home and her life and started and ended every day with a devotional prayer. She continued to worship at home with the assistance of her caregivers after she could no longer attend Sunday services. She was a proud, long-standing member of P.E.O. in both Santa Clara and Amador County. She was also a BSF member and leader for many years while living in San Jose. Marilyn loved her friends and spending time playing golf and going to various club and church functions with them. She was always ready to lend a hand and even her home to friends as well as family.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Bruce Preeo) of Stockton, CA. She is also survived by grandsons, Jason Preeo (Devon) of Littleton CO, and Matthew Preeo of Stockton CA; great-grandchildren, Mallory and Noah of Stockton, and Davis, Hudson, and Stella Preeo of Littleton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews from both the Welde and Scott families, and she loved them all. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 67 years, Richard Welde Sr.; son, Richard Welde Jr.; great-granddaughter, Trinity Preeo; and her three elder brothers, Lowell, Bud, and Robert, Marilyn’s twin.

Special thanks and love from the family for her wonderful caregivers who not only cared for her and about her but also loved her when she needed them the most. She loved them all deeply and treasured their friendship and love. Thank You, Cathy, Lulu, Camye, Rose, Sheri, Jacqui, Karen, Lisa, Sue, Geri, Rachel, Estela, and Susan. You will remain in our hearts forever.

Private interment will be at Sunset View Cemetery in Jackson, CA. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Community Christian Church, 14045 Ponderosa Way (off Ridge Rd) in Pine Grove, CA at 12:00p.m.

When we moved to Pine Grove in 2004, Marilyn was the first to welcome us to the neighborhood with homemade cookies and warm smile. Richard and Marilyn were the best neighbors and loved supporting our boys in their many fund raising scout projects. She will be dearly missed, but glad to know she is home with her Savior!
