Obituary For Mildred Harriet Jones

Mildred Harriet Jones passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, in Lodi, CA at the age of 93 years old. She was born in San Francisco, CA on October 4, 1928, a daughter of the late Vivian Dulice (Bailey) and Patrick Joseph Kelly.

Mildred is survived by two daughters, Kathy Lee Jones, and Truley (Steve Watkins) Roberts. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mildred is preceded by her husband, William Jones; son, Stephen Jones; sister, Pauline Stuhr; and brother, James Kelly.

After graduating high school Mildred made her home in Amador County where she volunteered as a writing teacher at the Senior Center and was an involved member of ARC. She was an accomplished writer, publishing her book “The Ione Hotel”.

Contributions in Mildred’s name can be made to ARC of Amador and Calaveras Counties at 75 Academy Dr. Sutter Creek, CA 95685. At the family’s request there will be no services.

Millie was a wonderful person who shared her gift of knowledge and kindness freely with those around her. Her compassion and inspirational nature is celebrated and remembered by all of the people she touched at The Arc of Amador and Calaveras.
