Obituary of Angelo Scavarda

Angelo Scavarda passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022, in San Jose, CA at the age of 91 years old. Born in Jeisyville, IL and resident of California, Angelo served honorably in the United States Army as a Doctor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. When stationed in Hawaii, he and his wife sponsored the Chu Family's immigration from Vietnam. After retiring at the rank of Colonel, he volunteered with the Army to prepare troops prior to deployment and as a docent at a military museum. Angelo is survived by his wife, Janaleen Scavarda of Cupertino, CA; brother in laws, Larry (Terry) Perondi and Al Cuthbert; nieces, Charlene Priest, Lynne (George) Jennings, Susanne Cuthbert, Jeanne (Scott) Glasscock, and Karen (John) Januzik; nephews, Brian Perondi and James (Veronica) Perondi; cousin, John (Suzie) Maggi; and many great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas, and parents, Marianna and Angelo Scavarda. Family and Friends are invited to attend a visitation held at 10:00a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Martell, CA. A Mass of Christian Burial Service to follow. Interment to take place at Sutter Creek Catholic Cemetery, Sutter Creek, CA.
