Obituary of James "Gary" Klinefelter

James "Gary" Klinefelter, age 76, of Sutter Creek, CA, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022 in Roseville, CA. Gary was born in Sutter Creek, CA on April 12, 1946, a son of Margaret Louise (Worley) and the late Graham Curlee Klinefelter. Gary worked as a youth counselor for 28 years at Preston School of Industry retiring in 2000. He then took up his retirement "job" of playing pool. Gary loved to travel, hunt, and drive his dream car, his corvette but family meant everything to Gary. Gary married Donna Lee Sweat Nov 5, 2005 in Sutter Creek. Gary is survived by his wife, Donna of Colfax; son, Steven Klinefelter (Jen) of Orangevale, CA; stepdaughters, Debbie Mitchell (Tony) of Colfax, CA; Lisa Jackson, of Colfax, CA; brothers, Ron Klinefelter (Valerie), of Plymouth, CA; John Klinefelter (Michelle) of Jackson, CA; grandchildren, Shane, Shelby, Andrea, Mitchel, Bradley, Brandon, Connar, Kenidi; great grandchildren, David, Jacarri, Harlynd, and Aspen. He was preceded by his first wife, Florence. Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Friday, October 21, 2022 followed by a rosary at 6:00 PM at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson, CA, A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sat. Oct. 22, 2022, 10:00 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Martel. A private interment will be held at the Sutter Creek Catholic Cemetery. Reception to follow at Teresa's Restaurant. In lieu of flowers donations in Gary's name may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital 2425 Stockton Blvd Sacramento, CA 95817 or St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
