Tom had a great love for my sister Norma, for their dogs, Gina and Jack, and for their beautiful land in Amador County. I was fortunate to visit them several times sharing their enjoyment of driving around the many small roads in Amador, visiting wineries, local restaurants, and scenic spots. At an earlier time in their lives, these drives were often cross county in their van. My husband and I shared part of one memorable trip to Houston. We still talk about what fun we all had and of Tom's prowess as a driver. Tom not only had a great zest for life, but he was also generous in sharing that enthusiasm with us. He is a bright memory and will be missed.

I had the honor of knowing Tom and working side by side with him and Norma. I was hired to help with the work around the house and land they own. Hearing him tell stories about his life, I loved getting to know him more. His incredible personality and smile with forever be in my memories. Thank you Tom for the wonderful years of knowing you.

These words are for Tom"s brother, Marty. As we briefly mentioned to each other on Marty's trip out here just two weeks ago, we are losing our family. It's scary to think but a reality to live. Of course we miss our loved ones but now we need to delicately prepare ourselves for what we know is our destiny. Soon we will all be together. Just one very large.family. Blessings my friend. See you "round the corner".

Uncle TJ, I have so many fond memories with you and Norma. I will always remember my graduation trip after college to California. You and Norma taught me about paring wines with food which started my liking for wine and visiting different vineyards, Chinatown in San Francisco, Folsom and the beautiful Lake Tahoe. I loved our snow skiing adventures together. The memory I will always hold near and dear to my heart is our walk together last summer on your land. I find peace knowing you are with your sisters once again. Love

I was so very fortunate to have Dr. Tom as my accounting professor and credit him for me passing the CPA exam. I have so many fond memories of Dr. Tom and his amazing wife, Norma. Dr. Tom never lectured from a textbook and always interacted with all the students during class. If we were discussing a balance sheet he'd create it on the fly as he asked various students how much cash, how much A/R, A/P, other liabilities etc.. Dr. Thom often reminded me of my first day in his class when I whispered to him from the front row his zipper was down. He was the advisor to Beta Alpha Psi and our meetings were as much fun as they were educational. I was lucky enough to travel with him and Norma to New Orleans for the Beta Alpha Psi national conference where Norma pointed out to me the dancers were not women! certainly fooled me! They treated me to dinner at Chez Paul and I don't recall have a meal that nice since! While juggling these duties Dr. Thom also oversaw the Becker CPA Review program in Sacramento. Dr. Thom, I want you to know I think of you and your wonderful wife, Norma, often and will continue to do so. I had a lot of amazing teachers throughout my schooling and my favorite one has now gone to Heaven. And, I'm sure, Heaven has a chalk board and angels are answering how much cash, how much A/R...

My sincerest condolences to Norma, family and friends of Dr. Tom. I had the good fortune of taking his Advanced Accounting class back in the early 1980's along with him being our Advisor for Beta Alpha Psi. He was an inspiration and told wonderful funny stories both in and out of the classroom. He truly inspired and prepared me to become a CPA along with helping me secure my first job out of college. Forever grateful for his guidance, kindness and sense of humor! David Sedin - CFO California Family Fitness

Tom Beirne is my brother, even in passing. He was my hero, role model, confidant, adventure partner, and mentor. I am so grateful to Norma for the help and support she gave him as his beloved wife. His physical presence is dearly missed, yet his influence and memories will live on for eternity! I love you, bro!

I moved to Sacramento in 1978 and became active in the Sacramento Chapter of CalCPA. Tom & I were on the chapter's Board of Directors at the same time. Very frequently when the prior month's Board Minutes were passed out the Secretary had Tom's last name was misspelled. When I became Secretary I made certain that Tom's name was spelled correctly. Yet, at one meeting Tom said his name was misspelled. Nobody could understand Tom's complaint since everyone thought his name was correct. Tom finally realized that I had put an incorrect spelling only on his copy of the minutes; everyone else had his name spelled correctly. I will remember Tom and his family in my prayers. May God bless you.

Tom was one of my favorite accounting professors at Sac State. It was with his and other professors' knowledge I was equipped to pass the CPA exam and have a very successful career in public accounting. I must share that we disagreed when we first met. He would not let me take his class as an "Add" class. He forced me to take it for "credit." He knew, as a seasoned professor, I would learn the advanced accounting material deeper and better. This hiccup started a long-term relationship with a lot of respect. He was a good man, capable, learned professor. My condolences to Norma and his family. Ken Macias, CPA, CGFM and founder of MGO.
