Obituary of Sharon Sue Hutson

Sharon Sue Qualls Hutson of Sloughhouse, California, passed away on April 30, 2022. She was born April 28, 1951, in El Paso, Texas, to Clyde and Winnie Lytle Qualls. She was preceded in death by her mother when Sharon was 16 years old. She was also preceded in death by her brother Phil, father Clyde and stepmother Mozelle Qualls. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Warren J. Hutson. She is also survived by her sister Carol Q. Pierce of Pueblo, Colorado, and her stepsister Marsha Ceniceros of El Paso, Texas, and many extended family members. Sharon's mother instilled in her the love of art. In high school she took art classes but would only draw horses. After she met Warren, she only drew one horse. She and her best friend in Jr. High would rent horses from the local stable for a week each summer and ride out into the desert. Sharon graduated from Eastwood High School in 1969. She then began her college years at Lubbock Christian University. During her junior year she met the love of her life, Warren, who was stationed at Reese Air Force Base for pilot training. They were married on August 20, 1972, at the Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock. Two months later they were transferred to Mather Air Force in Sacramento, California. Sharon and Warren became members of the Rancho Cordova Church of Christ and soon started teaching adult and children's Bible classes. Thus began 50 wonderful years living in Sacramento. Sharon worked for the Dairy Counsel for 12 years before joining Warren in his business in 1986. Sharon's love of horses lasted 29 years. Her favorite times were trail riding in the mountains on her faithful horse Grady whom she had for 23 years. She also participated in English riding competitions. She discovered she enjoyed this much more than her horse. Sharon was an avid reader. She always had one book while driving in the car for long red lights, a kindle to read at stop signs, one on the couch for tv commercials, and one at the kitchen table at breakfast. Sharon had many talents that included sewing, making craft projects of all kinds. The one that brought her the most joy was creating and making cards for all occasions. Here at Mariposa, Sharon will always be remembered as "The Bulletin Board Lady". She loved creating designs for the various events happening here at church. But what she truly loved most of all was all of you. She expressed so many times in her last weeks, how very blessed she has been by so many close relationships she's had these 50 years. Sharon will be laid to rest in the Ashland City Cemetery in Ashland, Ohio.
