Cheryl Daneri

Obituary of Cheryl Camille Daneri

Cheryl Camille Daneri passed away peacefully on April 9, 2024, at the Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson, CA.  She was born in 1943 to Wayne and Florence Tracy in Vineberg, CA., the youngest of the Tracy sisters’,with Pat, Marilyn, and Karen. Cheryl was raised by her mother and stepfather, Ray Tynan in Sonoma, CA. on a pear ranch with her siblings.

Cheryl graduated from St. Francis Solano Elementary school and Sonoma High School, where she was a cheerleader and very proud years later that she could perform a cheer for her family finishing in the splits.  She attended Napa Junior College and then ventured off to San Francisco with her good friends and found employment at Bell Telephone Company in the Yellow Page department.

In 1964, Cheryl and her family visited her sister Karen Martin in Jackson where she had recently moved. On that visit Cheryl met Jim Daneri at a March of Dime Benefit at the Wells Fargo Club. They married a year later in 1965. Sutter Creek became home where they started their family. Cheryl’s greatest joy was her family. She was involved in her children’s activities, a room parent, field trips, a Cub Scout Den leader. She never missed a sports event for her children and was their greatest supporter. In her earlier married years, she enjoyed many sports activities, bowling, tennis, and snow skiing. Cheryl enjoyed playing cards, bridge was her favorite and was always part of a group that met regularly. She also enjoyed hearts and whist.  As in sports, she was very competitive. She was active in the Immaculate Conception Church, she belonged to the Y.L.I and the Altar Society. Cheryl was an excellent cook and homemaker.  She set a precedent for beautiful table settings for parties and holiday dinners. She was very proud of her homemade ravioli. A summer vacation at the Silver Lake Daneri cabin with her sister Pat Stovall and family became a tradition.  She hiked, fished, water skied, boated, and loved sun tanning. After her children left for college, Cheryl went to work in sales at gift stores on Main Street. In succession, The Squirrel’s Nest, Blooming Gifts and Cabbage Rose. She found that she enjoyed her work and was very good at it. Later in life, she enjoyed her weekend trips away with her daughter.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her so much joy. She was very proud of all of them. In her final days, she enjoyed talking on the phone, visiting, and texting with all of them. She will be greatly missed but family traditions were very important to her, and her spirit will live on as her children and grandchildren carry on her cooking and holiday traditions from one generation to the next.Cheryl is survived by her husband, Jim Daneri, son John Daneri (Anna) and daughter Geri Lesniewski.  Her grandchildren Clayton Daneri (Madison), Kilie Gamez (Ryan), Jamille Daneri, Jenifer Lesniewski (Fred Murillo), Morgan Lesniewski (Jackson Zrubek) and Sierra Lesniewski. Her great grandchildren Jace and Tatum Daneri, Cash Gamez and Shepherd Zrubek. Her loving sisters Pat Stovall, Marilyn Adams and Karen Martin (Howard). There are also many nieces and nephews. Cheryl had one more wish to live to see another Great granddaughter born in July to Jenifer, but it was not to be.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Her urn will be placed in the family tomb in the Sutter Creek Cemetery.
