Obituary of Donald J. Biss

Donald J. Biss passed into the Lord's hands on Friday, April 15, 2011, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old. Donald spent his career as a public safety officer for the city of Sunnyvale, providing municipal police and fire services to a city of over 100,000 in the San Francisco Bay area for over 20 years. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He leaves behind his loving wife, Jeane; three children, Richard, Karen, Colleen; grandchildren, Megan, Austin, Brad, and Kelly. Donald enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. His courageous fight against the disease that ultimately took his life is an inspiration to us all. May he rest in peace. A mass of Christian burial will be held on April 26, 2011 at our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church, 26750 Tiger Creek Road, Pioneer, at 11:00 A.M., followed by a reception at the church reception hall. Graveside services and interment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 22555 Cristo Rey Drive, Los Altos, CA, at 11:00 A.M. on April 28, 2011. Friends are invited to attend either or both services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Counties, P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95642.
