Obituary of Ljubica Saraba

Ljubica Saraba passed away peacefully at home in Wilton, California, on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 6:30 am, due to a short illness. She was born on March 14, 1922 in Bugojevicsalo Zupci Trebinje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Yugoslavia, the daughter of Perko and Petre Micanovic. Ljubica, was married in February 1938, to Spasoje Saraba in Turmenti-Zupci Trebinje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Yugoslavia. They had six children, eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Ljubica was a resident of Sacramento County for the past 10 years. She was a member of the Kolo Sisters at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Jackson, California. She is survived by her son, George Saraba and his family in Wilton, California; son, Lazar Saraba and his family in Fair Oaks, California; daughter, Ande Prcovic and her family in Trebinje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Yugoslavia; grandson, Dragan Spaic and his family in Trebinje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Yugoslavia; granddaughters, Dragica Spaic and Sladana Spaic in Los Angeles, California; her twin sister, Save Pistignjat and her family in Herceg Novi Montengro Yugoslavia; brother, Mihalo Micanonci and his family in Trebinje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Yugoslavia; sister, Radojka Mihajlovic and her family in Melborne, Australia. Friends are invited to attend a visitation Friday, January 28 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Daneri Mortuary Chapel in Jackson, California with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 29 at 11:00 am at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Jackson, California. Interment will be in the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cemetery in Jackson, California.
