Obituary of William "Ed" "Popu" Tollett

Tollett, William Edward Of Ione, California left us suddenly on Tuesday, January 12, 2011 at the age of 67. Ed was born in Placerville, California, June 16, 1943 to William and Lucille Tollett. After graduation from high school Ed enlisted in the United States Army. Ed was in Special Forces and received numerous service medals. He owned many businesses over the years in Ione and worked for Cal Trans for 18 years. Ed was a servant to his community as a Charter member of the Elks Lodge in Jackson, CA and a Brother Mason of the Ione Masonic Lodge #80, where he received the Hiram Masonic Award. Ed is survived by loving wife, Bernadette, two daughters, Tammy Cochran and Tiffany Tollett, six grandchildren, Max Herberger, Shamus Rooney, Wayne Cochran, Austyn, Courtney and Carson Critz. He is also survived by his mother, Lucy French and sister, Kathy Jordan and brothers Dale and Randy Tollett. He is preceded in death by his first grandson, Thomas Michael Rooney. He will be missed by pets Jazmine, Sammy and the Boys. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Ione Masonic Lodge #80. A Celebration of life was held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Evelyn Bishop Hall in Ione, California.
