Obituary of Guy Messing

Guy Gene Messing born Nov. 15, 1931 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin passed into the loving arms of Jesus on his 79th birthday, Nov. 15, 2010. Preceded in death by his parents Aubrey P. and Agnes Messing, he is survived by his wife, Carol of 53 years. Guy is also survived by his son, Craig (Jo Ann), Steven (Debra), and Ron Messing (Allison), grandchildren, Jon and Jordan McGrath, David and Kevin Messing and Amanda Messing. He also leaves a sister, Faye and brothers, Aubrey and Roger along with many nieces and nephews. His beloved daughter, Kim, preceded him in death in 2004. Raised in Wisconsin, Guy joined the Navy in 1949. After qualifying for the OCS program, he attended the University of Wisconsin graduating in 1956 with a BS in Chemical Engineering. During his summer tours of duty as a Midshipman, he toured many European countries and navigated the Atlantic. After college and the military, he joined North American Aviation in Downey, CA where he met and married his wife, Carol in 1957. Later that year, he took a position with Aerojet General Corporation in Rancho Cordova, CA. He spent his entire career with Aerojet while living in the Sacramento area and retiring in 1993. In 2004 Guy and Carol moved to the west slope of the Sierra's, above the town of Volcano in Amador County where they made many wonderful friends. He loved fishing and collecting glass and beer steins and always cherished time with his kids and grandkids. His family would like to give special thanks for the loving care provided by Gold Quartz Sr. Residence in Sutter Creek as well as Hospice of Amador. Services will take place Mon. Nov. 22, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Sutter Creek Church of the Nazarene, 14050 Ridge Rd., Sutter Creek, CA.
