Obituary of Wilma Gattoni

Wilma Gattoni passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in Sonora at the age of 84 years. She was born March 14, 1926 to Frank and Cyrena (Wolford) Roberts in Corning, Iowa where she was raised. Wilma met the love of her live, Angelo Gattoni, in 1944 in Omaha, NE. She moved to California and was married in 1945 in Reno, NV. Wilma and Angelo were devoted to one another and experienced only one fight in their 62 years of marriage. She was very artistic and creative, enjoying painting, sewing, carving, antiquing, and collecting. Wilma lived in the Bay Area for many years before making Grass Valley her home for 31 years. She recently had moved to Sonora to be closer to her famiy. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Cindy Gattoni of Sonora; daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and James Smith of West Point; sisters, Grace Shaw of Alameda, Mary Howard of Kansas; grandchildren, Angela, Danny Brandy, Bryan; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Angelo Gattoni on December 1, 2007. At the family's request there will be no services.
