Obituary of Edith M. Silva

Edith M. Silva passed away Monday, October 25, 2010 at Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson at the age of 98 years. She was born September 19, 1912 to Pete and Clorinda (Dal Porto) Ferrero in Plymouth, CA. She was a native and lifelong Amador County resident. Edith enjoyed being with people and spent 30 years in food service at many local restaurants. She also worked 18 years as a cashier at the old Amador Theater in downtown Jackson. An avid bingo and slot machine player, Edith made many trips to Tahoe, Reno and the Jackson Rancheria. She was a meticulous dresser and always had well fashioned hair. Edith kept an immaculate house and adored flowers. A special thank you to Faustino and Marlene Montalvo for the loving care they gave her the past seven years. She is survived by her son, Richard Rose of Elk Grove; daughter, Lynn Silva of Plymouth; brother, John Ferrero of Shenandoah Valley; grandchildren, Nick Silva, Michael Rose, Brent Rose, Scott Rose, Mark Rose, Tami Brock; great-grandchildren, Michaela Rose, Todd Massoni, Alicia Massoni; Megan Rose, and Kylie Rose. She was preceded in death by ex-husband, Francis Rose, husband, Loyal Silva and son, Arnold "Zeke" Rose. Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass Saturday, November 6 at 1:00 P.M. at St Mary's of the Mountains Catholic Church in Plymouth. A graveside service will follow the memorial mass. A reception will follow at the Highlands Mobile Home Park Club House.
