Obituary of Frederick Wallace Grey

Frederick W. Grey passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 in Pine Grove at the age of 85 years. He was born June 20, 1925 to Frederick and Ellen (Scott) Grey in Watertown, New York. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country until 1946 when he was honorably discharged in Shoemaker, CA. With the skills he learned in the military he began his career as a boilermaker at a steel plant, retiring after 40 years. Frederick had spent his retirement years in Amador County for the past 20 years. He is survived by his children, Sandra Beeman-Grey and husband Jerry of Valley Springs, Tom Grey and wife, Denise of Linden; brothers, Howard Grey of Fullerton, CA, Douglas Grey of Florida; sister, Ruth Maiola of New York; grandchildren, Jim, John and Jeff Cook, and Carl and Eric Peterson; great grandchildren, Raven and Frederick Cook; great great grandchildren, Carl, Jennifer, Eric and Madison Peterson; long time friends, Carol and Jerry Glover and long time companion, Dorothy Quilice; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katherine Grey in 1989 and son, Frederick "Fritz" H. Grey in 1998. A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 30 at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward.
