Obituary of Ida May Longenbohn

Ida May Longenbohn passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 in Jackson with her loving family by her side at the age of 90 years. She was born January 4, 1920 in Putnam County, Indiana of Rawley and Edith Hill. Her early years were spent in Indiana until 1941 when she followed her brother, Ray, to California where he was in the service. She found work in Santa Monica and their parents soon joined them. In 1966 she married LeRoy Longenbohn where they were both living and working for the State of California. Throughout her life she was active in several organizations some covering dancing, bridge, bowling, and golf. After 24 years of service with the State of California they retired to Amador County spending winters in Yuma, Arizona. She continued playing bridge and golf and touring the country in a motor home. She is survived by her husband, Leroy of 44 years, his sons, Steven,William, Jeffrey, Lance and their families, and her brother, Ray, wife and family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. At Ida May's request there will be no service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Amador & Calaveras Counties, P.O.
