Obituary of Bonnie Marie DuFrene

Bonnie Marie DuFrene passed away June 3, 2023, in Jackson Ca. at the age of 82. She was born on October 11, 1940, in Sacramento, California to Ben and Dolores Brown, Sr. Bonnie lived her entire life in the Ione area. She grew up in Carbondale and attended the one room schoolhouse through the eighth grade, as the last class to graduate from Carbondale School. She went on to earn her AA degree in Business and her pilot's license. She loved sharing stories about driving cattle to the mountains from Ben Brown Ranches as a young girl and loved spending her time at the ranch.

Bonnie is survived by her companion; Charles Huffman of Jackson, CA, Son; Mark (Kelly) DuFrene of Galt, CA, Daughter; Gina (Norman) Martin of Linden, CA, Granddaughter; Jenna (Julian) Rodriguez of Ripon, CA, Grandson; Thomas (Jessica) Martin of Lodi, CA, Great Grandchildren; Luke, Camille, and Logan, Niece; Cindy Brown and grandnephew; Andrew Gobin.

She was preceded in death by her Brother Benny Brown Jr., her Mother Dolores (Knowland Brown) Mahon, and her father, Ben Brown, Sr.

There will be a Graveside Service on June 23, 2023, at 12:00pm at Camellia Memorial Lawn in Sacramento, California. Family and friends will gather afterwards at Evelynn Bishop Hall in Ione to celebrate Bonnie’s life.
