Several years later she married and had 3 children, Mark, Nova and Stacy. They moved to Amador County in 1968. She is fondly remembered for working at Sutter Hill Coffee Shop and the Chatter Box Restaurant. People still share memories about her coffee shop days. During that time, she made so many friends and the customers loved her. Her love for kids and community inspired her to create a non-profit and teach first aid and CPR in the local schools.  This is where she got the nickname BAT Lady (Basic Aid Training). She also taught 4-H for many years, eventually becoming leader of the youth building at the Amador County Fair for over 30 years. She was also the first recipient of the Amador County Women’s Network, Woman of the Year Award in 1999 for her community service.

She was patriotic and loved flags and the 4th of July.   She also loved Christmas, to her Christmas was about the kids, so every year she would give to many children that were less fortunate. She resided in Drytown for 35 years and made many happy memories. She loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Hanging out with her was always the best time and so much fun with treats galore. She will always hold a special place in all our hearts. We love you crazy Grandma!!
