Duclos family,
Sorry for your loss, Dorothy was a lovely lady, so kind and caring; always had a smile for everyone. We always had a great time together, whether it was dinner, shopping or just stopping by for a visit. She will be missed by all!

I’d have to say Dorothy Duclos was the best. So many will miss her. In my high school days she was a friend, a mentor and mother to all that attended Jackson High. You could always get a hello, a beautiful smile, and a hug from her. Dorothy Duclos left a mark on your heart forever. REST IN PARADISE

I am sure I am not the only person who felt special because of Aunt Dorothy’s attention. She usually greeted me by saying, “there’s my Susie”. I have such fond memories of weekends spent in Jackson with Rene and Dorothy. She inspired me to a life-long love of antiquing. Without knowing the particular color of my jacket, she sent made me a scarf and beanie that were the exact color and I thought of her loving kindness every time I wore them. Exchanging letters with her over the years was such a privilege and her open heart to her family and all living things was inspirational. I am so blessed to have been loved by her.

How lucky we are to have such an amazing angel watching over us. Such a kind, generous soul. Leaving behind so many wonderful memories for all of us who were blessed enough to call her a friend.
I worked for Dorothy and Rene at Galli's for several years in the early 80's. They taught me so much about work ethic and character. I was so lucky to have them both as my teachers.
There are so many amazing memories I am lucky enough to have. The story Dorothy told of standing in line at "Price Club" for hours to get Cabbage Patch Dolls for her granddaughters. Falling asleep on her
spare bed while she sewed my cheerleading skirt for me. Going to the mall Christmas shopping with her and always coming home with a new something she just had to get for me. Watching her press out the burger patties from fresh ground beef and weighing out the onion rings. I still have the garter she handmade me for my wedding 39 years ago. She sewed blue beads she had that were over 100 years old at the time into it. And the red crocheted hat she sent when my daughter was born. She and Rene brought me a crocheted scarf she made to my work several years ago. I've gotten more use out of it since we moved to Missouri last year.
What an amazing life she shared with so many. I am so thankful I am one of the lucky ones to be able to take memories of her with me. I hope that the people closest to her, especially Rene, can take comfort in knowing she will be missed and there will always be lots of love for her and for you as well!
With a sad and thankful heart,
Laurie (Davis) James
