Obituary of Irene Grace Pacheco

Irene Grace (LaRoque) Pacheco, 74, started her journey on August 7, 2023, in Ione, CA. Irene was born on December 29, 1948, to Albert LaRoque and Victoria Folster in Poplar, Montana on the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Indian Reservation.

Irene was native American. She was Assiniboine and Chippewa. Irene was proud of her heritage.

Irene is survived by her husband, Albert Pacheco for 30 years; her sons, Hank (Shane) and Kenny; stepson, Paul (Deedra) Pacheco; stepdaughters, Aggie (Derrick) and Monica (Christine); sisters, Yvonne (Caleb) Shields and Alice Ferraro; and special niece, Cherie Corfman; brothers, Henry, and Bob LaRoque. Granddaughters, Bella, and Harley Rose; grandsons, Derriel (Elizabeth). And her dear childhood friend Dee Martinez. She is also survived by eight (8) great grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sons, Toby, and David; parents, Albert, and Victoria; brothers, Earl, Ronald, and Albert.

Irene had such a sense of humor and a quick wit. She sold Avon for 30 years, she had many customers and considered them all her friends. She loved to travel and longed to continue traveling when she was no longer able to travel. Irene was passionate about her charity MS. She organized an annual run/walk called the “Pacheco Believers”. Even during her time of illness, she would try to keep it going. This venture came about when she lost a dear friend to MS.

Irene was also a loving caring soul. She would take younger people under her wing to try to help them see a better future. We will all miss her very much. Many people did not know that she had a beautiful voice.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, 1:00p.m. at the Ione Hotel, Ione, CA. (Burke’s Restaurant). In Lieu of flowers you may donate to her favorite charity MS or to the American Cancer Society.
