Obituary of John Anthony Sweetman

John Anthony Sweetman, 76, passed away October 24, 2023, in Ione, CA. He was born on April 19, 1947, in Los Angeles, CA to Harry and Josephine (Corona) Sweetman.

John worked for the United States Forest service for 45 years. He loved being in the woods. He was known by friends and family by being the most genuine and understanding man there ever was. His wife and family were his world. He will be forever missed.

John is survived by his wife, Lynn Allison Sweetman of Ione, CA; children, Richard Anthony Sweetman and Hillary Nicole Sweetman; grandchildren, Yasmine Garcia, Jessie Garcia, Nichole Garcia, Nicholas Cheney; as well as his brother, Eric Sweetman. He was preceded in death by Harry Marsden Sweetman, Josephine Sweetman, and Ian Sweetman. 

A funeral mass was held Friday, November 17, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Jackson, CA at 10:00a.m.
