Obituary of Georgetta Marian Finch

Georgetta (Gigi) Marian Finch, 87, of lone, California, departed this earth to be with our Lord and Savior on November 14, 2023, in Lodi, California. She was born on February 22, 1936, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania to the late John and Thomasina Cassesi. In 1947, at the age of 9, Gigi moved with her parents, two brothers, and two sisters to Ione, California.

Gigi cared deeply for her family and friends. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. Gigi selflessly prayed for at least an hour every day for her loved ones.

Gigi loved to cook, especially Italian cuisine, and she was known to call her loved ones out of the blue to tell them to come pick up their meals. And she always ensured that every person who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, happy….and fed.

Gigi loved the holiday season and all that it brings, especially being surrounded by beautiful decorations, cherished family, and delicious food.

Gigi loved to travel in her family’s travel trailer and would scope out all of the good restaurants along her journey. Her favorite place to camp was Silver Lake where she would enjoy the beautiful scenery and cook for her family.

Gigi is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Elmer Finch of lone, CA; daughter, Karen (Robert) Potts; sons, Rick (Martha) Finch, Doug (Nicole) Finch; grandchildren, Robert Potts, Michele Poore, Mandy Kirkpatrick, Kimberly Gideon, Curtis Finch, Caden Finch; great grandchildren, Shelia Poore, Hailey Poore, Evan Potts, Colton Gideon, Abigail Gideon, Sydney Gideon, Cassidy Kirkpatrick, Carter Kirkpatrick, Lucas Finch; and great great grandson, James Johnson.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation followed by a Rosary on Monday, December 4, 2023, starting at 5:00p.m. at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in lone, CA on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Interment will follow at the lone Catholic Cemetery.
