Obituary of Ladessa May Johnstone

Ladessa May Johnstone passed away January 5, 2024, in Jackson, CA at the age of 98. She was born on May 7, 1925, in The Dalles, Oregon to Charles and Effie (Lawler) Baker.

Ladessa is survived by children, daughter, Judy (Payne) Arnold; son, Jesse Johnstone; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  She was preceded by 6 siblings, her first husband, Clyde Payne, second husband, Jack Johnstone, and her partner of many years, Jim Rasmussen; sons, Charles Payne and Jack Johnstone, Jr., and grandson, Joshua Johnstone.

Her life was full of love of travel, fishing, hunting, playing cards and bingo. When she was young, she even sang on the radio in Portland, OR.

Funeral services will be at Daneri Mortuary on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow at the Pine Grove Community Town Hall.
