Obituary of Ruth Anne Larson
Ruth Anne Larson passed away February 23, 2024, in Volcano, CA at the age of 93 years old. She was born November of 1930, in Los Angeles, CA. The oldest of three children, brother Walter “Sonny” Bales and sister Shirley Thompson.
Ruth married Eldon Chambers and they had 5 children together, Gene, Pat, John, Debbie, and Mike. After Ruth and Eldon’s marriage ended, she met and married Wayne Larson, with his sons Daniel and Larry.
Ruth lived in Southern California for over 40 years and briefly in Nebraska for 1 year (hated the winters) then for almost 50 years in the house in Volcano, CA where she passed away.
She worked hard her whole life. She spent over 20 years as a Waitress (back before they called them servers) She worked for the Amador School District where she retired and then went to work for Sutter Amador Hospital in the dietitian office where she retired until they asked her to come back and work in the business office where she retired again.
Ruth had many interests in her life. As a girl she loved and was very good at Roller Skating (Roller Derby). She loved to crochet. She enjoyed time at the casino whether it was playing $.20 on a slot or eating at the buffet. Her love for gardening came from her love of flowers. Her biggest love (just below her family) was travel. Some of the Cruises she went on took her to Russia, Norway, the Caribbean both from Fl. And through the Panama Canal and several to Alaska. She loved to fly and loved to visit family.
Ruth is survived by her children, Gene (Patsy) Chambers, John Chambers, Mike Chambers, Daniel (Paula) Larson and Larry (Linda) Larson. Ruth was blessed with 23 Grandchildren 44 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husbands, Eldon Chambers and Wayne Larson; children, Pat (Kieth) Valentine, Debbie (Larry) Lagorio; siblings, Walter “Sonny” Bales and Shirley Thompson.
A visitation will be held at Daneri Mortuary Chapel, Jackson, CA on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Sunset View Cemetery, Jackson, CA. With a celebration of life at the Sutter Creek Auditorium at 18 Main St. Sutter Creek, CA.
